Dogra Degree College, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, Jammu organized a Poster Making &
Slogan writing Competition on the theme “Poisoning our Planet” to mark “World No Tobacco
Day” in the College Campus on 28 th May 2022, under the supervision of Ms. Swati Mahajan
H.O.D, Department of Commerce.
Eighteen volunteers from BBA, B. A & B.COM Department participated in the event. The
participants made quality posters expressing their perception on ill effects of tobacco
consumption. The participants who participated in the event were namely Rupakshi and Ritika
of B.A Semester 4 th , Shubam and Amol of B.A Semester 6 th , Kajal and Pallavi of B.A Semester 6 th ,
Simran of B.com Semester 4 th and Jyoti of B.com Semester 6th, Udhay and Gourav of B.com
Semester 4 th ,Geetanjali and Pratham of BBA Semester 6 th , Himanshu and Rahul of BBA Semester
4 th , Ritesh and Amit of BBA Semester 4 th .
The judges had tough time deciding the winners. After scrutiny the result declared was as
under: In Poster Making and slogan writing competition the First Prize were bagged by
Geetanjali and Pratham of BBA Semester 6 th , 2 nd Prize winner were Komal of Semester 6 th and
Divya of B.Com Semester 4 th , 3rd Prize went to Jyoti of B.com Semester 6 th and Simran of B.com
Semester 4 th .
The main motive behind the celebration of this day was to encourage the students, who are the
young blood and future of the nation, to contribute spreading awareness about side effects of Tobacco Consumption.
Prominent among those who were present in the event were Mr. Iram Javed NSS Officer of
Dogra Law College, Ms. Amarjeet Kour NSS Officer of Dogra College of Education & Mr. Rishabh
Physical Instructor of Dogra Degree College.
